I wish to echo all of the well wishes to Keri and her new endeavor with District Attorney Sam Sutter. No one covered all of the DSS blunders with the same passion as Keri, and she is a vocal advocate for Jessica's Law and child safety zones. We fully expect her to be very successful with the DA's Community Affairs office - offering prevention and intervention services and supports for at-risk youth.
If the DA was looking for someone with the passion, drive and intellect for this position, then he found the right person with Keri Rodrigues.
Good Luck.
Side Note: Among Keri's contributions to local politics was the introduction of a new debate format that allowed regular citizens to submit their questions and actually ask the questions themselves to the candidates. It was really a neat way to get people involved in politics and contributing to the democratic process.
On several occasions, Keri represented WSAR as the radio station co-hosted political debates with the Herald News. Earlier this year, a debate was planned for the four Democratic candidates competing in a primary to fill the State Representative seat vacated by Mayor Correia. The debate was cancelled because Leo Pelletier decided not to participate. It was Keri who picked up the pieces and still delivered a debate with the other three candidates, for the benefit of the voters in that district.
After Kevin Aguiar emerged successfully from that primary, everyone knew that he would wipe the floor with Ray Leary, but WSAR and the Herald News still offered a debate, mostly due to the efforts of Keri Rodrigues.
Very soon there will be more elections in the region. Most notably Dave Sullivan v. Linda Pereira. But let's not forget Kevin Aguiar v. John Rodrigues ..... v. CJ Ferry, and all of those candidates running for Register of Probate. I fear there will be a lack of debates - to the detriment of the voters of the area.
Will there be any debates?
Will WSAR co-sponsor debates with the Herald News?
Who will represent WSAR?
... Will it be those guys that are so new to the area that they don't know that all City Councilors are voted at-large and represent the entire city?
... Will it be Mike Herren who (enter your own reason why the Hurricane is not qualified to be a debate moderator here)?
Intelligent political discourse has just decreased in Fall River because of Keri's departure from WSAR.
I guess its not a bad legacy to have - to research issues, drive informed debate, and increase civic participation of the listening audience.
Once again, Good Luck, Keri!

OH PLEASE no Fast Eddie/Hurricane moderated debates!!
That's an excellent question, who will they get to moderate debates, etc. Who could replace Keri? I hope they hire someone viewed as an independent like Keri was or their image is going to suffer further.
I second the no Hurricane-modded debates. Although, it'd be worth the price of admission.
At least the Hurricane can let you speak without interruption even if he doesn't agree with you. The Hurricane is very passionate about Fall River and its' people. I think he is doing a great job at WSAR
I fervently disagree with you on Hurricane allowing people to speak. Not only does he cut people off while they are speaking, he also yells at them and throws a tempter tantrum (he isn't alone on this though because Eddie also throws a mean hissy fit) if someone tries to interject a point while he speaking.
We dont need no stinkin debates. We just gonna drive 'round and count signs. Who has more bigger signs we vote for.
